ਸੁੱਚਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਕੌਣ ਸੀ ???
ਸੁੱਚੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1875 ਈ.ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਪਾਲ ਪੱਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਵੰਧੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨਰਾਇਣ ਸਿੰਘ {ਨਰੈਣਾ} ਤੋਂ 2-3 ਸਾਲ ਛੋਟਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਬੜਾ ਅਲੱਥ ਤੇ ਲੜਾਕਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸਟੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ।ਛੋਟਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਕਾਫੀ ਦੇਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਨਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ {ਹੁਣ ਥਾਣਾ ਸੰਗਤ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ} ਰਿਹਾ।ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਦੇ ਬੜੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।ਵੇਖਾ ਵੇਖੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੌਂਕ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈਵਤੀਆ ਪੱਤੀ ਦੇ ਨੰਬਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੈਹਿਲ {ਘੁੱਕਰ ਮੱਲ} ਨਾਲ ਯਾਰੀ ਸੀ।ਲਿਖਾਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੋਰੇ ਦੋਹਵੇਂ ਦੋਸਤ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਅਖਾੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੌਕੀਆ ਭਲਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਅ ਪੇਚ ਸਿੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ।ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਜਬਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਉਹ ਦੋਹਵੇਂ ਬੱਕਰਿਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਮਾੜੀ ਮੋਟੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੌਕੀਨ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕੋਲ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਗੰਡਾਸੀ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਰਤੀਏ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਕਮਾਣੇ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਨਿਭੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਘਰਵਾਲੀ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ।ਫਿਰ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਰੋੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ {ਬੀਰੋ} ਨੂੰ ਕਰੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।ਰੋੜੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਹੁਣ ਡੱਬਵਾਲੀ-ਸਰਦੂਲਗੜ੍ਹ ਰੋਡ ਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਬੀਰੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਮਾੜੇ ਚਰਿੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਸੀ, ਜਦਕਿ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਨਸੀ ਤੌਰ ਕੁਝ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਆਉਣ ਜਾਣ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬੀਰੋ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਰਾਨਾ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਮੱਲ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਭੰਨਦਾ ਸੀ।
“ਸੁੱਚੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਉਣਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਜਵੰਧੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ।”
ਘੁੱਕਰ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਤੇ ‘ਚੋਂ ਲਾਂਭੇ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਇਹ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਕਿ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।ਦੋਵੇਂ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਟਵਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਰੰਗਰੂਟੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਰਮਾ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ।ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਛੱਡਣੀ ਬੜੀ ਔਖੀ ਸੀ।ਥਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਫੌਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਫਲਾਣਾ ਫੌਜੀ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰੇਆਮ ਮਿਲਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।ਵਰਨਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਵਰਿਆ ਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।ਬੀਰੋ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨੇਹਾ ਪੱਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਤੇ ਮੇਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਗੰਢੂ ਗੋਤ ਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਸਿੰਘ {ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ} ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।ਵਰਨਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਗ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਨਫਰਤ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਰ ਬਣਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੱਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਲੇੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਟਾਊਟ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਘਟੀਆ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਬੀਰੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਟਿੱਚ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਸੀ, ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਗਾਂ ਈ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਈਆਂ।ਨਰੈਣਾ ਖੁਦ ਨਿਕੰਮਾ ਤੇ ਡਰਪੋਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ।ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਹਾਲ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
“ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਗੀ ਸਾਕੀਂ ਸੁੱਖ ਵੀਰਨਾ, ਭਾਗ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵੀਰਨਾ”
ਬੀਰੋ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਾਨਦਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹਾ ਕਾਲਾ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਭੜਕ ਉੱਠਿਆ।ਪਰ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਉਦੋਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਸੀ? ਜੇ ਭੱਜਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਫੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ।ਭਾਣਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾ ਦਿਨੀ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਅਫਸਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਫਸ ਗਏ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।ਅਫਸਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ, ਇਨਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਬੋਰ ਦੀ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਤੇ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡਿਸਚਾਰਜ ਮੰਗ ਲਿਆ, ਜੋ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ।ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਜਰੂਰ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਵਿਖਾਏ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਹਨਾ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਮਾਰ ਕੁਟਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਮੋਹਤਬਰਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਰਜਿਆ।ਕੁਝ ਚਿਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਛਾਈ ਰਹੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਫਿਰ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਂ ਬੀਰੋ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਲੁਕ ਛਿਪ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਹਣੇ-ਮਖੌਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਵਿਗੜ ਗਈ।ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਰੋਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੁਨਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਈ ਗਵੱਈਏ ਦਾ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਗੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਵੱਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ।ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਦੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਉਥੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਸੱਥ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਫਾਇਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਘਰ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਬੀਰੋ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਗਈ।ਜਦੋਂ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਬੀਰੋ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵੜ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਘਰ ਉਤਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ।ਬੀਰੋ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਧੂਹ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਸੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਤੇੜੋਂ ਚਾਦਰਾ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਦੋਹਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਰਨ ਸਮੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਸੀ।ਪਰ ਸੋਚਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਗਰਭ ਵਿਚਲਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਬੀਰੋ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
ਪਿੰਡੋਂ ਭੱਜਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਵਰਿਆਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਊਠ ਖੋਹਲ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚੱਲ ਪਿਆ।ਭਾਣਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ ਵੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਗਿਆ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਊਠ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੀ ਫਾਇਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਪਰ ਗੋਲੀ ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਨਾ ਲੱਗੀ, ਉਹ ਮਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਗੁੱਛੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ।ਊਠ ‘ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੋ ਗੇੜੇ ਕੱਢੇ ਤੇ ਮਰਿਆ ਸਮਝਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੱਲ ਪਿਆ।ਗਵੱਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਮਰਿਆ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
“ਭਾਗ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੰਧ ਦੇ ਖੜਾ ਸੀ ਉਹਲੇ ਨੂੰ, ਦੂਜੀ ਗੋਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਤੋੜ ‘ਤਾ ਵਿਚੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ”
ਗੋਲੀ ਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਗਿੱਚੀ ਕੋਲ ਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਗਈ ਸੀ।ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਬਚ ਜਾਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਡੰਗਰ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਖੋਹਲ ਦਿੱਤੇ।ਜਦ ਘਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਬੰਨਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ।ਭਾਗ ਕੋਠੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ, ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੱਲ ਫਾਇਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਦੋ ਕੁ ਛਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਜੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ।ਇਹ ਕਾਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਬੀਗੜ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਭੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।ਉਹ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਬੀਗੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਗਊਆਂ ਛੁੱਡਵਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ।ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਬੱਲੇ ਬੱਲੇ ਹੋ ਬਈ।14 ਜੂਨ 1871 ਈ. ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮਧਾਰੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਗਊਆਂ ਬਚਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ।ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦਾ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਸੀ।ਇਥੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਲਹਿਰਾਗਾਗਾ {ਸੰਗਰੂਰ} ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਸੰਗਤੀਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਦੋਸਤ ਕੋਲ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।ਪਰ ਉਹ ਦੋਸਤ ਗੱਦਾਰ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਧੋਖਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਛਾਜਲੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੈਲਦਾਰ ਮਿਸ਼ਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਥਾਣਾ ਸੁਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕੇਸ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸਟੇਟ ਦੀ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਤੇ ਗਊਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਹਿਮ ਦਿਲ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਬਤੌਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਉਹ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗਊਆਂ ਛੁੱਡਵਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਅਫਸਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਬੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਸੀ।ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਬਰੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਣ ਲੱਗਾ।
ਪਰ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ।ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਨਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਭਤੀਜੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਫਰਿਆਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਬਦਚਲਣ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਬਦਮਾਸ਼ ਗੱਜਣ ਵੈਲੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਈ ਹੈ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਟਾਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੀ ਬੜੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਭਰੇ ਵਕਤ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਹਾਂ।ਪਰ ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਹਿੜੇ ਹੀ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ।ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਬਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਸੁਧਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰੰ ਦਬਕਾ ਮਾਰ ਆਇਆ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਕੇ ਕੁਝ ਚਿਰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹੇ, ਪਰ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਚਾਲਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਆ ਗਏ।ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਰ੍ਹੋਂ ਵੱਢਦਿਆਂ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਜਾ ਘੇਰਿਆ।ਦੋਹਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਊਠ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਭੱਜਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਪਰ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਊਠ ਸੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ।ਫਿਰ ਵਾਰੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ।
“ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਹਾਨੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੋਰਿਆ, ਫਿਰ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੈਲੀ ਗੱਜਣ ਨੂੰ ਰੋੜ੍ਹਿਆ”
ਇਥੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਫਤਿਆਬਾਦ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਕਰਨੌਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਫਿਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਭੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਦਬਾਅ ਪੈਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨਹੈਣ {ਬੜੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ 30 ਕਿ.ਮੀ.ਦੂਰ} ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।ਉਥੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਹੱਥ ਤੇ ਉਕਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ।
ਸੁੱਚੇ ‘ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੇਸ ਚੱਲਿਆ।ਮੌਕੇ ਦੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਗੱਜਣ ਦੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਗਈ।ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੇ ਕੇਸ ਲੜਿਆ ਪਰ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਹੀ ਗੱਡਾ ਖੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੰਡ ਦੇ ਦਰਖਤ ਨਾਲ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਤੇ ਲਟਕਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।ਫਾਂਸੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਨਰਾਇਣ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਗਏ ਸਨ।ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਸਮੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਅੱਜ ਮੇਰੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਥੋਂ ਵੀ ਛੁਡਵਾਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ 32-33 ਸਾਲ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ 1907-08 ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਲੱਗੀ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ 1960 ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ ਕਰੀਬ 90 ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ 1965-66 ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਮਰਿਆ ਸੀ।ਦੂਰੋਂ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੁੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।ਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਕਾ ਬਰਾਦਰੀ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੋਰੀਆਂ ਚਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ।ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਥਾਣੇ ਕੁਟਾਪਾ ਲੱਗਾ।ਕੁਝ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਡਰੋਂ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਪਿਉ ਦੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।ਉਸ ਦੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਹੁਣ ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਕੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਪਿੰਡ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।ਨਰੈਣਾ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਔਲਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਮਰੇ ਸਨ।ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਭੈਣ ਪਿੰਡ ਚੀਮੇ, ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਸੁਨਾਮ {ਸੰਗਰੂਰ} ਵਿਆਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਹੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ 60-65 ਕਿੱਲੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ।ਜਿਸ ਭਤੀਜੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਮਾਰੇ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਧ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਵਾਈ।ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਵੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਿਆ।
ਗਵੱਈਆਂ ਤੇ ਫਿਲਮ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਵਿਗਾੜਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਕਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡੀ।ਮਾਣਕ ਵਰਗਾ ਸਮਝਦਾਰ ਗਵੱਈਆ ਵੀ ਕਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਤੇ ਕਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਗਾਈ ਗਿਆ।ਇੱਕ ਗਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੀਰੋ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਚਲਣ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਚੱਲ ਸੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂ ਨੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਵੱਢਿਆ ਯਾਰ ਪਿਆ” ਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਗਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਬੀਰੋ ਨੂੰ ਚਰਿੱਤਰਵਾਨ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, “ਸੁੱਚਿਆ ਉਏ ਭਾਬੀ ਤੇਰੀ, ਘੁੱਕਰ ਨੇ ‘ਕੱਲੀ ਘੇਰੀ।” ਵਰਿੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਯੋਗਰਾਜ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਹੀ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ।ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਵੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਵਰਨਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।ਕਰੀਬ 90% ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਬੀਰੋ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬਲਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਵੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਬਦਲੇ ਲੱਗੀ ਸੀ।ਨਾ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਮਰਿਆ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।

ਸੁੱਚੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1875 ਈ.ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਪਾਲ ਪੱਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਵੰਧੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨਰਾਇਣ ਸਿੰਘ {ਨਰੈਣਾ} ਤੋਂ 2-3 ਸਾਲ ਛੋਟਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਬੜਾ ਅਲੱਥ ਤੇ ਲੜਾਕਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸਟੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ।ਛੋਟਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਕਾਫੀ ਦੇਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਨਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ {ਹੁਣ ਥਾਣਾ ਸੰਗਤ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ} ਰਿਹਾ।ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਦੇ ਬੜੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।ਵੇਖਾ ਵੇਖੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੌਂਕ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈਵਤੀਆ ਪੱਤੀ ਦੇ ਨੰਬਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੈਹਿਲ {ਘੁੱਕਰ ਮੱਲ} ਨਾਲ ਯਾਰੀ ਸੀ।ਲਿਖਾਈ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੋਰੇ ਦੋਹਵੇਂ ਦੋਸਤ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਅਖਾੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੌਕੀਆ ਭਲਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਅ ਪੇਚ ਸਿੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ।ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਜਬਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਉਹ ਦੋਹਵੇਂ ਬੱਕਰਿਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਮਾੜੀ ਮੋਟੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੌਕੀਨ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕੋਲ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਗੰਡਾਸੀ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਰਤੀਏ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਕਮਾਣੇ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਨਿਭੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਘਰਵਾਲੀ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ।ਫਿਰ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਰੋੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ {ਬੀਰੋ} ਨੂੰ ਕਰੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।ਰੋੜੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਹੁਣ ਡੱਬਵਾਲੀ-ਸਰਦੂਲਗੜ੍ਹ ਰੋਡ ਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਬੀਰੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਮਾੜੇ ਚਰਿੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਸੀ, ਜਦਕਿ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਨਸੀ ਤੌਰ ਕੁਝ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਆਉਣ ਜਾਣ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬੀਰੋ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਰਾਨਾ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਮੱਲ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਭੰਨਦਾ ਸੀ।
“ਸੁੱਚੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਉਣਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਜਵੰਧੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ।”
ਘੁੱਕਰ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਤੇ ‘ਚੋਂ ਲਾਂਭੇ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਇਹ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਕਿ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।ਦੋਵੇਂ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਟਵਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਰੰਗਰੂਟੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਰਮਾ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ।ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਛੱਡਣੀ ਬੜੀ ਔਖੀ ਸੀ।ਥਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਫੌਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਫਲਾਣਾ ਫੌਜੀ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰੇਆਮ ਮਿਲਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।ਵਰਨਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਵਰਿਆ ਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।ਬੀਰੋ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨੇਹਾ ਪੱਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਤੇ ਮੇਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਗੰਢੂ ਗੋਤ ਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਸਿੰਘ {ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ} ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।ਵਰਨਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਗ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਨਫਰਤ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਰ ਬਣਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੱਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਲੇੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਟਾਊਟ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਘਟੀਆ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਬੀਰੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਟਿੱਚ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਸੀ, ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਗਾਂ ਈ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਈਆਂ।ਨਰੈਣਾ ਖੁਦ ਨਿਕੰਮਾ ਤੇ ਡਰਪੋਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ।ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਹਾਲ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
“ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਗੀ ਸਾਕੀਂ ਸੁੱਖ ਵੀਰਨਾ, ਭਾਗ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵੀਰਨਾ”
ਬੀਰੋ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਾਨਦਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹਾ ਕਾਲਾ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਭੜਕ ਉੱਠਿਆ।ਪਰ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਉਦੋਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਸੀ? ਜੇ ਭੱਜਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਫੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ।ਭਾਣਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾ ਦਿਨੀ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਅਫਸਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਫਸ ਗਏ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।ਅਫਸਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ, ਇਨਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਬੋਰ ਦੀ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਤੇ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡਿਸਚਾਰਜ ਮੰਗ ਲਿਆ, ਜੋ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ।ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਜਰੂਰ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਵਿਖਾਏ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਹਨਾ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਮਾਰ ਕੁਟਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਮੋਹਤਬਰਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਰਜਿਆ।ਕੁਝ ਚਿਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਛਾਈ ਰਹੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਫਿਰ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਂ ਬੀਰੋ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਲੁਕ ਛਿਪ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਹਣੇ-ਮਖੌਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਵਿਗੜ ਗਈ।ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਰੋਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੁਨਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਈ ਗਵੱਈਏ ਦਾ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਗੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਵੱਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ।ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਦੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਉਥੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਸੱਥ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਫਾਇਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਘਰ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਬੀਰੋ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਗਈ।ਜਦੋਂ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਬੀਰੋ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵੜ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਘਰ ਉਤਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ।ਬੀਰੋ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਧੂਹ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਸੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਤੇੜੋਂ ਚਾਦਰਾ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਦੋਹਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਰਨ ਸਮੇ ਬੀਰੋ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਸੀ।ਪਰ ਸੋਚਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਗਰਭ ਵਿਚਲਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਬੀਰੋ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
ਪਿੰਡੋਂ ਭੱਜਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਵਰਿਆਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਊਠ ਖੋਹਲ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚੱਲ ਪਿਆ।ਭਾਣਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ ਵੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਗਿਆ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਊਠ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੀ ਫਾਇਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਪਰ ਗੋਲੀ ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਨਾ ਲੱਗੀ, ਉਹ ਮਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਗੁੱਛੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ।ਊਠ ‘ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੋ ਗੇੜੇ ਕੱਢੇ ਤੇ ਮਰਿਆ ਸਮਝਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੱਲ ਪਿਆ।ਗਵੱਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਮਰਿਆ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
“ਭਾਗ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੰਧ ਦੇ ਖੜਾ ਸੀ ਉਹਲੇ ਨੂੰ, ਦੂਜੀ ਗੋਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਤੋੜ ‘ਤਾ ਵਿਚੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ”
ਗੋਲੀ ਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਗਿੱਚੀ ਕੋਲ ਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਗਈ ਸੀ।ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਬਚ ਜਾਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਡੰਗਰ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਖੋਹਲ ਦਿੱਤੇ।ਜਦ ਘਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਬੰਨਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ।ਭਾਗ ਕੋਠੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ, ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੱਲ ਫਾਇਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਦੋ ਕੁ ਛਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਜੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ।ਇਹ ਕਾਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਬੀਗੜ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਭੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।ਉਹ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਬੀਗੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਗਊਆਂ ਛੁੱਡਵਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ।ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਬੱਲੇ ਬੱਲੇ ਹੋ ਬਈ।14 ਜੂਨ 1871 ਈ. ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮਧਾਰੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਗਊਆਂ ਬਚਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ।ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦਾ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੁੱਚੜ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਸੀ।ਇਥੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਲਹਿਰਾਗਾਗਾ {ਸੰਗਰੂਰ} ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਸੰਗਤੀਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਦੋਸਤ ਕੋਲ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।ਪਰ ਉਹ ਦੋਸਤ ਗੱਦਾਰ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਧੋਖਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਛਾਜਲੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੈਲਦਾਰ ਮਿਸ਼ਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਥਾਣਾ ਸੁਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕੇਸ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸਟੇਟ ਦੀ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਤੇ ਗਊਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਹਿਮ ਦਿਲ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਬਤੌਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਉਹ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗਊਆਂ ਛੁੱਡਵਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਅਫਸਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਬੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਸੀ।ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਬਰੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਣ ਲੱਗਾ।
ਪਰ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ।ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਨਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਭਤੀਜੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਫਰਿਆਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਬਦਚਲਣ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਬਦਮਾਸ਼ ਗੱਜਣ ਵੈਲੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਈ ਹੈ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਟਾਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੀ ਬੜੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਭਰੇ ਵਕਤ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਹਾਂ।ਪਰ ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਹਿੜੇ ਹੀ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ।ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਬਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਸੁਧਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ।ਸੁੱਚਾ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰੰ ਦਬਕਾ ਮਾਰ ਆਇਆ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਕੇ ਕੁਝ ਚਿਰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹੇ, ਪਰ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਚਾਲਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਆ ਗਏ।ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਰ੍ਹੋਂ ਵੱਢਦਿਆਂ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਜਾ ਘੇਰਿਆ।ਦੋਹਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਊਠ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਭੱਜਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਪਰ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਊਠ ਸੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ।ਫਿਰ ਵਾਰੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ।
“ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਹਾਨੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੋਰਿਆ, ਫਿਰ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੈਲੀ ਗੱਜਣ ਨੂੰ ਰੋੜ੍ਹਿਆ”
ਇਥੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਹਰਿਆਣੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਫਤਿਆਬਾਦ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਕਰਨੌਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਫਿਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਭੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਦਬਾਅ ਪੈਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨਹੈਣ {ਬੜੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ 30 ਕਿ.ਮੀ.ਦੂਰ} ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।ਉਥੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਹੱਥ ਤੇ ਉਕਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ।
ਸੁੱਚੇ ‘ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੇਸ ਚੱਲਿਆ।ਮੌਕੇ ਦੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਗੱਜਣ ਦੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਗਈ।ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੇ ਕੇਸ ਲੜਿਆ ਪਰ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਹੀ ਗੱਡਾ ਖੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੰਡ ਦੇ ਦਰਖਤ ਨਾਲ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਤੇ ਲਟਕਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।ਫਾਂਸੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਨਰਾਇਣ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਗਏ ਸਨ।ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਸਮੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਨਰੈਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਅੱਜ ਮੇਰੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਥੋਂ ਵੀ ਛੁਡਵਾਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।ਫਾਂਸੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ 32-33 ਸਾਲ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ 1907-08 ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਲੱਗੀ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਨਰੈਣਾ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ 1960 ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ ਕਰੀਬ 90 ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ 1965-66 ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਮਰਿਆ ਸੀ।ਦੂਰੋਂ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੁੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।ਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਕਾ ਬਰਾਦਰੀ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੋਰੀਆਂ ਚਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ।ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਥਾਣੇ ਕੁਟਾਪਾ ਲੱਗਾ।ਕੁਝ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਡਰੋਂ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਪਿਉ ਦੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।ਉਸ ਦੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਹੁਣ ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ।ਘੁੱਕਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਕੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਪਿੰਡ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।ਨਰੈਣਾ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚਾ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਔਲਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਮਰੇ ਸਨ।ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਭੈਣ ਪਿੰਡ ਚੀਮੇ, ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਸੁਨਾਮ {ਸੰਗਰੂਰ} ਵਿਆਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।ਸੁੱਚੇ ਹੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ 60-65 ਕਿੱਲੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ।ਜਿਸ ਭਤੀਜੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਮਾਰੇ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਧ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਮਾਉਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਵਾਈ।ਪਿੰਡ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੱਜਣ ਵੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਿਆ।
